About me
the mission
the begining
Focused K9 began with a reactive dog named Titus. He was my first dog, brought home from a local rescue. The next few months a pattern started to emerge, and it was not a pleasant one. Any time we saw another dog, he would bark, lunge, and pull with all his might towards them. I began to dread walks with him and felt like I had no control over his behaviors. After months of attempting to address the issues on my own, I finally contacted a local trainer. This was one of the best decisions of my life, and I only wish I had done it sooner. With professional help, I was able to completely change our relationship. He even earned canine good citizen and trick titles! Since then, I have spent my time researching dog behavior and gaining hands on experience. Now, I look to assist others who are in a similar situation I was years ago

Now
My training style can be summed up as “use what works”. There are unlimited ways to train a dog, and the important piece is finding the style that works well for you and your dog. By having this flexibility, I am able to achieve consistent results with a wide variety of dogs.
Currently I compete in sports with my personal dog, Bandit. I believe that competition is not only a fun bonding experience with your dog, but a proving ground for dog training methods. This translates directly to the ability to provide control for dogs with issues of reactivity and aggression. I have provided education and training for hundreds of dog owners, also assisting others to achieve dog sports titles.
